Project Description

This project focused on restoring pipeline integrity at CGPD by increasing sand cover and rehabilitating pipe berms at bowed-up pipeline sections. The works ensured safe pipeline support, adequate cover, and long-term protection in compliance with Saudi Aramco engineering and safety standards. The scope was executed in parallel across multiple locations to minimize operational impact and maintain right-of-way accessibility.

Scope of Work

• • Detailed site inspection and condition verification
• • Identification and correction of bowed-up pipeline sections through sand cover enhancement and berm construction
• • Construction, rehabilitation, and re-profiling of pipe berms to achieve minimum required pipeline cover
• • Preparation and reconditioning of right-of-way for safe access and equipment movement
• • Excavation and exposure of pipelines with approved excavation safety systems
• • Pipe support during works to prevent overstress and deformation
• • Removal of existing pipe wraps and surface preparation
• • Inspection and non-destructive testing (NDT) of exposed pipelines
• • Grit blasting and re-coating of pipelines in accordance with APCS 113-A
• • Installation of protective sleeves and pipe replacements where required
• • Backfilling with suitable materials and compaction to specified levels
• • Final restoration of berms and sand cover to original or improved condition
• • Compliance with applicable Saudi Aramco Engineering Standards (SAES) and safety requirements
